Crowd watches Pakistan militants kill 2 Afghans

Masked militants pulled the two blindfolded Afghans from a car and forced them to kneel on the ground.

Waliur Rehman, a local Taliban commander, told the crowd that the two men had confessed to aiding in the strike on a house in the border town of Damadola that killed 14 people last month. The men disclosed the names of others accused of involvement, who would be killed as well, Rehman said. Pakistan's army lodged a formal protest to "allied forces" in Afghanistan after saying Pakistan had concluded the attack was launched by drones from across the border. The U.S. did not comment on the incident.

"Whoever, for the sake of money, for the sake of America, harms the interest of the Islamic world will meet the same fate," Rehman said.

Gunmen with daggers then pounced on one of the men—identified as Jan Wali, 36—decapitated him and waved his bloody head to the cheering crowd, according to an Associated Press reporter and AP Television News footage from the scene.

The militants then argued over how to kill the other man because he may have been a teenager, before one lost patience and shot him with an assault rifle.

The crowd erupted in cheers of "God is great!" and gunmen fired in the air in jubilation. The celebratory gunfire killed two bystanders and wounded six.

John Hinderaker comments.

This is who we're fighting

Meanwhile, horrifying new details emerged last night of the attempt by suicide bombers to kill Ms Bhutto on her return home from exile last month.

Investigators from Ms Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party said yesterday they believed the bomb, which killed 170 people and left hundreds more wounded, was strapped to a one-year-old child carried by its jihadist father.

They said the suicide bomber tried repeatedly to carry the baby to Ms Bhutto's vehicle as she drove in a late-night cavalcade through the streets of Karachi.

These are the monsters we are fighting:

The bodies of two U.S. soldiers found in Iraq Monday night were mutilated and booby-trapped, military sources said Tuesday.

May God give peace to Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, and consolation to their families.

And to their killers, painful, lingering deaths followed by an eternity of torment.

Imagine for a minute that the IRA (a terrorist group that organizes itself around Catholicism) stepped up its murderous activities during the holy time of Lent. It is blasphemous to blow people up in the name of Jesus.

Apparently, Ramadan isn't Lent; and Allah isn't Jesus; and Islam isn't Catholicism.

Remember, this is just one of those things that we are supposed to accept and respect about different cultures, and to approach without prejudice.

Remember, this is one of those cultural differences that we are supposed to respect and excuse, even if it seems strange or foreign.

Why?

Attackers kill eight in Pakistan

5:23 PM Sep 4, 2003by Rob Ritchie

The dead included four children. The victims were sleeping in a courtyard when the attackers sprayed them with bullets from assault rifles. Many poor villagers sleep outside to stay cool during Pakistan's intensely hot summers.
Honor killings are simply one of the many customs we need to respect in a culture that is different, but not inferior, to our own.

I may as well test out this stuff by making a new posting. I draw your attention to this story: 4 With al-Qaida Ties Held in Iraq Blast

Wait a minute! You mean that al-Qaida is somehow active in Iraq? Back in Saddam's day, this kind of stuff didn't happen.

Update: It works!
